“A group of 4 went out with Captain Austin of R&R Charters on June 15th 2012 (last day of the ling cod season). The trip started out great with Austin going out of his way to pick us up on Lopez island where we were staying which saved us a ferry ride to and from Anacortes. We limited out in about 4 hours and continued to catch and release monster ling cod and rock fish, even catching a 35 pound ling in the process that was over-sized. The action did not slow down all day and everyone had a blast on the water. I would recommend Austin and the R&R crew above anyone else. This was the second time that Austin chartered a trip for us- the first being a salmon trip in 2011 and each time the experience has been exceptional.” Eric L Yakima...

Halibut Fishing in the San Juan’s Read what customers posted on TripAdvisor and Yelp concerning both R&R and Highliner Charters:   May 12, 2012 “Outstanding Halibut Trip! “I am a native Florida angler so the PNW is still somewhat of a new scene for me. Captain Brett came highly recommended from several people in the area so he was the man for the job. Everything went off without a hitch, Brett was extremely hospitable and just a great down to earth friendly captain who’s true passion is for fishing, not just a paycheck. He was great helping us with rigs and bait, giving us tips on what the fish respond to best and above all putting us on some huge fish! Not long into the trip we landed a 20lb halibut followed by a 30lb and then a whopping 60lb halibut! Needless to say it was one of the most exhausting yet rewarding experiences of my life, those halibut like to fight. I will be back next year for sure. Thanks again Brett for an outstanding experience.” Steve Oak Harbor WA   May 2012 “Great trip with these boys, and for those of you who are considering them for any type of Charter I highly recommend them, there are a few other options out of Skyline Marina in Anacortes and I have friends who have taken them and were throughly unimpressed. Here is the bottom line, with only 13 days to fish for Halibut during our Pacific Northwest season, this outfit aims to put you on the fish, our Captain, Raymond, met us at the pier head and was chomping at the bit to get underway. Once we were at the fishing grounds he had us anchored and rods in the water with in minutes. I landed a Halibut that was well over 50 pounds within about an hour and half of the bait hitting the bottom and he did not miss a beat with making sure we got that fish in the boat. Whether it’s Halibut, Ling, or Salmon, if you’ve only got a matter of hours to put some fish in the freezer and lack a vessel of your own, these guys will get it done for you!” Greg K. Anacortes...

This family had the time of there life on board Highliner Charters in August of 2012.  Here’s their testimony: “It doesn’t get much better than this. Captain Brett is professional, personable, and makes the entire experience a joy.  He served our country in the Navy, now serves others in this way and shares his passion for fishing with all ages, all skill levels.  And beyond that, 10% of their proceeds go to less fortunate people through Rice Bowl Ministries!  That’s testament to the quality of individuals they are.  And the four gorgeous Chinooks are testament to the quality of their fishing prowess!    I HIGHLY recommend Highliner Charters!  Thanks Captain Brett! FISH ON!” Seth, Seattle WA   From yet another satisfied Highliner Charters guest from back in July of 2012: “What an amazing day of fishing! Captain Brett really knows his stuff. He does things a little different than most, which is probably why he catches more than most! Brett knows the waters well, and more importantly he knows the fish! Knowing what the fish will bite, and when they go on the bite, is perhaps the most important skill a charter captain can have, more so up in the islands where currents can be very strong. Captain Brett has both down to a science. We limited the boat out and went back early. Simply amazing! I will surely be back next year!”             Herb G, Mukilteo, WA   Read on and learn how more of our customers felt about their experience aboard Highliner Charters:   My dad booked the charter with Brett, and Austin was our captain.  Austin did a great job putting us on the fish as we had nine hooked up over the eight-hour trip.  We kept four (two were too small to keep and three got off the hook before making it to the boat).  I would not hesitate to use these guys again, and will be passing their name around the office up here.  Austin was very personable and helped to keep things fun during the slow periods when fish weren’t biting.  They were also very good to us when our original party of four got shaken up at the last minute due to an emergency work trip for one of our guys, giving us lots of options when we only gave them about three days notice. John B. Mount Vernon, WA 3/17/2013   Great trip. I have fished these waters for most of my life. Brett did an awesome job of putting us on fish and going to places that others in the fishing fleet who charter would be hesitant about going to; Deception Pass. From someone who fishes the pass, I know how difficult it can be to fish inside the pass. Brett made it look easy. Hooked up with several fish and lost quite a few, probably our limit or more. We then went outside to Eagle point and trolled for some Kings and Silvers. The weather was great and my brother-in-law and I had a good time as the pace was a little slower out at Eagle Point than in the pass. We talked and joked around, but even throughout all the talking and joking around Brett kept us fishing and fishing hard. Finally, had to call it a day and head to town. Brett was exhausted and we knew from looking at him that we had worked that day as hard as one could getting us on the fish and trying to fill the box. Lastly, great boat and again as someone who fishes...

Feb 2013 “I had the chance to take a guided blackmouth trip with Captain Brett Rosson of R & R charters and had a great time! Brett was quick to put us on the fish! Within 30 minutes of having our gear down, we had our first 10 lb salmon in the boat. We followed that with 2 more fish in the boat and a few that got away. Very action packed to say the least! All the gear was top notch and their new 28 foot Parker boat was more than capable of handling the big wind and waves. The heated cabin and full “facilities” was a total bonus as well! In short, great equipment, very personable staff, great fishing, and good value. I highly recommend R&R charters!” Matt L Anacortes Wa   August 2012 Had an AWESOME DAY of Salmon Fishing with Captain Austin from R&R Charters out of Skyline Marina in Anacortes, WA.
